ADVAITA: THE OFFICIAL WESTERN DANCE SOCIETY OF BHARATI COLLEGE

Advaita was established in 2012. The word “Advaita” is a Sanskrit word meanings One of a Kind or Non Duality. Advaita usually focuses on preparing one annual group production which is performed at competitions. Since 2016 Advaita has been focusing on Urban Hip-Hop as a main group forte. Advaita is one of the most popular societies not only in Bharati College but also in the DU dance circuit. The Objective of Advaita is to represent our college in the Delhi dance circuit. For people who are looking for professional guidance in the field of Western dance, this is the best platform. Apart from that, Advaita gives a lot of exposure in this art form and provides certificates.

Advaita performs on various occasions such as Orientation day, Diwali fest, Departmental fests, The plug (Western group dance competition organized by Advaita at Abhivyakti). We participate in Inter college competitions, not only in Delhi but all around India. Advaita also participates in big scale competitions/championships. In a nutshell Advaita participated in more than 20 competitions in the last semester (Jan 2020-March 2020).

We believe in a safe and non-judgemental environment for the growth of each member’s dancing skills, and put out a group production which gives a platform to every individual. Our goal is to have fun in the learning process. Every year we prepare a 7-8 minutes production with the help of our choreographer. Throughout the year members get exposure to various dance forms and dance circuit with Advaita.
