VANIJYA SAMITI ‒ Commerce Society

The Commerce society is organized and run by students of B.Com (Hons) and B.Com (P).

The society organizes value-based activities/sessions/workshops/lectures by eminent academics and renowned industrialists. Every year it organizes an annual one-day commerce fest by the name of “Commercio”. The fest comprises of various inter college events like Commerce Quiz, Guilty as Charged, IPL Bidding, Economicry, B‟Honcho, Business Plan etc. Through the year, it organizes various intellectual intra college events like Extemact, AdMad, Case study, Mock test, Business Quiz, poster making competition etc.

Full Form: Bachelor of Commerce (Honours)

Course Level: Graduate

B.Com (Hons) Is one of the most professional courses in the field of commerce that most of the students pursue to become an Accountant, Tax Specialist, Investment Banker, Financial Consultant, and other similar roles.

They may also work as Tax Consultants or in the field of banking. Working as a Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost and Work Accountant (CWA), and Company Secretary (CS) are some other advanced career options in this field. Commerce graduates may also take up financial services, marketing, and project management.


B.Com

Full Form: Bachelor of Commerce

Course Level: Graduate

A Bachelor of Commerce, abbreviated as B.Com is an undergraduate degree in commerce and related subjects. The course is designed to provide students with a wide range of managerial skills and understanding in streams like finance, accounting, taxation and management. It is generally believed that earning a bachelor's degree, particularly B.Com degree in the commerce stream is a pretty good career move and often the minimum requirement for getting a job. This Course is also known as B.com Pass Course.

Market Acceptability or Future Of Courses Offered

Both the courses have different values in the market and offer different gradations of opportunities.

These commerce courses benefit students who want to pursue CA, CFA, CMA or any such competitive certification course in the future. B.Com is a common commerce course that provides overall knowledge of subjects like Accountancy, Business Management, Taxation, Economics, etc.

Many jobs are available through government exams: conventional Bank PO, IBPS and many other exams are held for clerical level entry. IES is one of the most reputed organizations in the country.
