History & Objectives
  • The sports culture in Bharati College has been boosted with the inception of the Department of Physical Education. The endeavour is to provide a platform to young talented sportspersons with state-of-the-art amenities so that they learn, train and improve their standard in sports and games, and excel at the international and national level. The aim is also to promote indigenous games among the youth who are in some ways unaware of the vast career possibilities to be explored in our national games and sports.

Courses offered
  • The College has extensive playgrounds and adequate arrangements for Athletics, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Kho-Kho, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, and Volleyball. Guidance is available for games under specialised Coaches (NIS/ MPEd/ BPEd) Playing equipment and Physical training equipment are provided, Members of the College teams in all disciplines receive sports jerseys and refreshments after practice sessions. There is a gymnasium with a qualified gym trainer. The facilities are utilized by students and staff. The College is also running a Cricket Academy for all age groups. Regular One day and Twenty-Twenty tournaments are organized in the College.

  • To train sportspersons and improve their standard in sports and games.

  • To help talented students excel at the International and National levels.

Job Avenues
  • Students after graduation can gain professional qualification in sports sciences, for example, Bachelor in Physical Education (BPEd) on the basis of which they can get jobs in schools as Physical Education teacher. Moreover, students who continue their qualification to Masters in Physical Education become eligible to appear for the National Eligibility Test (NET) and can become Lecturer/ Director Sports/ Sports officers in different universities all over the country.

  • Student can appear for entrance exams for jobs in Delhi Police or Traffic Police.

  • Students can opt for careers like Gym trainer, Yoga trainer, Aerobics trainer after getting specific training / diplomas from specialised institutes.

  • Students can apply for entry into the Army, Navy or Air Force on the basis of sports quota.

  • Students can get jobs on the basis of sports quota in Indian Oil, Indian Railways, FCCI, Air India etc.

  • Students can get training from the National Institute of Sports to become specialized coaches in specific sports and appointed with Sports Authority of India.
