I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.
The foundations of modern democratic society are built on the principles of debate and discussion. Founded in 2012, Chintan- the Debating society of Bharati College strives to inculcate the art of public speaking among students as an important contribution to the civic and political life of the nation. . The very term- “Chintan”- means effective thought, reflection and deliberations on important topics.
To hone the intellectual and oratory skills of students.
To foster free speech.
To provide a platform for critical inquiry.
To encourage students to engage with issues of national and international importance.
The Society is able to accomplish these objectives through the following activities:
Open House Discussions
Declamations
Debates (Intracollege and Intercollege)
Extempore Debates
Turncoat Debate
Live Talk Series

For example, in the previous year, Ms. Aiswarya Jayan won the third prize in the Extempore Competition at IIT Varanasi.
