न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते।
ज्ञान के समान पवित्र इस संसार में कुछ नहीं है।।
There is nothing more pure in this world than knowledge(Gyana)
The IGNOU teaching centre at Bharati College (Learner Support Centre- 38043) symbolizes the best of both institutions and is committed to excellence in teaching, and to providing equality of opportunity to anyone who wishes to acquire knowledge. This spirit infuses the work of the students, faculty and management of the Bharati College IGNOU Centre. The Centre has an enrollment of over 4000 post graduate degree candidates and is supported by almost 50 academic counsellors. At present, the Centre offers high-quality teaching through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode in 7 disciplines including, Commerce, Counselling and Family Therapy, English, Economics, Hindi, Psychology, and Political Science. The Centre falls under and works closely with IGNOU Regional Centre- 3 Division, Dwarka.
Beginning with the Induction programme on 30th October, 2019 the Centre commenced its operations in full earnest under the leadership of Dr. Vandana Bansal (Associate Professor, Bharati College) who serves as the Coordinator of the Centre. Classes are held every Saturday and there is no compromise on punctuality and regularity. For added benefit to the learners, a Youtube Channel has also been created for exchange of information- which has already become extremely popular. Although primarily meant for students of our Centre, it is not unusual to receive queries from learners of other centres across India on the Channel.
IGNOU is a Peoples University, and at Bharati College too the focus is on putting people first. This was therefore, a natural partnership. We remain alert to any requirements that our learners can have. With innovation and purpose, we will continue to serve the public good.
We firmly believe that the success of any distance education Programme is based on a three-way partnership between the student, faculty member and technology. This understanding is reflected in the innovative strategies that have been worked out in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
A live Induction programme was organized on the Centre’s You tube channel for the new batch of students – which was addressed by Dr. Sanjeev Pandey- Director – Regional Centre-3 and the Coordinator.
Webex Classrooms were organized for each discipline and the entire staff was available to ensure the smooth functioning of these classes. At present, classes are being conducted on Google Meet.
The assignments were taken through google forms making the process of collection and evaluation extremely smooth and error free. Online counselling workshops are being organized to cater to the needs of learners especially of MSCCFT – a course which is very practical oriented and requires continuous interaction of the learners with the centre.
