The Department of Psychology offers BA (Hons) Psychology. This course sensitizes students to understand their behaviour and personality and tries to inculcate various personal and psychological skills. It shapes students’ thinking in such a way that they can describe and explain human behaviour within a scientific paradigm and approach. Students learn about the history of the discipline, its theoretical foundations and its many branches including Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Child Development, Bio-psychology and Human Resource Management. Given the applied nature of the subject, theoretical courses are accompanied by a variety of practicum courses.
The course is also designed to help students develop analytical abilities by encouraging them to conduct research projects as a part of the practical papers. The faculty, who are well-qualified and skilled in their specializations, also participate along with their students in different seminars, workshops and conferences at the international and national level.
