About Us

OPUS is the Internship and Placement Cell of Bharati College, University of Delhi. It is a student-faculty-led initiative committed to bridging the gap between academic learning and professional aspirations. We aim to empower students from diverse disciplines—Commerce, Economics, Humanities (English, Hindi, Sanskrit, History, and Political Science), Sociology, Psychology, Journalism, and Mathematics—by providing them with the opportunities for internships and placements.

Student empowerment is central to OPUS’s mission. The team works consistently to equip students with the skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market.

• Skill Development Workshops: Covering resume writing, communication, interview techniques, domain-specific skills, and professional etiquette.
• Resume Building & Mock Interviews: Structured training to enhance self-presentation and boost interview confidence.
• Information Sharing: Transparent access to company profiles, roles offered, and compensation details.
• Summer Internships: Especially after the second year, to offer hands-on exposure in sectors like media, finance, research, policy, education, and marketing.

At OPUS – Internship and Placement Cell of Bharati College – we believe in empowering students to take ownership of their career journey. Each academic year, a new batch of student coordinators is recruited from across all years and streams. These students undergo structured training to develop pertinent skills in communication, corporate outreach, and professional etiquette, enabling them to manage the Cell independently with faculty guidance.

Core Responsibilities of the Team

• Corporate Outreach: Researching and connecting with potential recruiters for both internships and placements, while maintaining relationships with existing companies and inviting them for campus drives.
• Due Diligence: Conducting thorough background checks of all organizations to ensure student safety and the credibility of internships and placement offers.
• Opportunity Facilitation: Sharing verified internship and job descriptions with students, collecting applications, and coordinating a multi-stage selection process (aptitude tests, group discussions, and interviews).
• End-to-End Coordination: Managing all aspects of the recruitment journey—from organizing Pre-Placement Talks (PPTs), handling logistics, to facilitating final selections and offer rollouts.

In order to provide internships and job opportunities to the students, OPUS, Internship and Placement Cell of Bharati College works on development of industry specific skills in the students as well as on establishing link between the students of the college and the corporate world. We firmly believe that students of Bharati College will work efficiently to bring success to your company.
