Guided by our motto धैर्य, निष्ठा, अनुशासन, the society seeks to inspire students to embody these values in their pursuit of public service.

About the Society

Established in 2023, DHAIRYA – The Civil Services Society of Bharati College – serves as a dynamic platform for students who aspire to serve the nation through the Civil Services. It unites learners from diverse academic backgrounds to explore public administration, governance, and national affairs in a collaborative, engaging environment.

DHAIRYA stands out as one of the most active and intellectually vibrant societies of Bharati College. With seminars, mentorship programs, and student-led initiatives, the society fosters leadership, critical thinking, and a deep sense of purpose. Our mission is to ensure every member grows holistically — academically, professionally, and personally — within a supportive and purpose-driven community.

Objectives

At DHAIRYA, our goal is to empower aspirants through:

Achievements & Initiatives

Since its inception, DHAIRYA has undertaken several enriching initiatives to support UPSC aspirants:

  • Interactive Seminars & Guest Lectures: Featuring esteemed IAS, IRS, and IFS officers who provide practical perspectives on their civil services journeys.
  • Collaborations with Top Coaching Institutes: Offering curated resources, expert-led sessions, and strategy insights.
  • Skill-Development Workshops: Covering current affairs, ethics, interviews, and personality development for all-round preparation.
  • Weekly Discussion Circles: Engaging conversations on pressing national and international topics such as governance, economy, IR, environment, and social issues — enhancing awareness, articulation, and analytical abilities.
  • Dhairya Times – The Official Magazine: Published bi-annually by the editorial team, this magazine is a knowledge-sharing platform featuring national and international news highlights, Focus of the Month articles, editorials, and student write-ups. It nurtures writing and research skills essential for UPSC and broader public discourse.

UTKARSH 2025 – The Annual Academic Fest

Held in April 2025, UTKARSH became the hallmark academic event of DHAIRYA – The Civil Services Society. Students from across the University of Delhi and beyond participated with great enthusiasm.

Day 1: Competitions

  • The Policy Nexus – A dynamic policy-drafting simulation that tested students' policymaking skills.
  • Ethical Quotient Challenge – A case-based event focused on ethical reasoning and real-world dilemmas.
  • Trivia Titans – An engaging quiz on governance, polity, and current affairs that sparked intense competition and learning.

Day 2: Speaker Session

Day 2 of UTKARSH’25 featured an insightful speaker session with Dr. Sanjeev Chopra (Former Director, LBSNAA), Mr. Rajesh Gupta (IRS Officer), and Prof. Vinay Nangia (UPSC Interview Panelist). Their engaging discussion offered valuable perspectives on civil services, ethics in administration, and the realities of a bureaucrat’s life, leaving the audience both informed and inspired.

Special Highlight – Launch of the 6th Edition of Dhairya Times

A proud moment of UTKARSH’25 was the ceremonial release of the 6th edition of Dhairya Times — the society’s official bi-annual academic magazine. Unveiled by our esteemed guests, the magazine stands as a testament to the society’s intellectual spirit. It features:

  • National and international news highlights
  • “Focus of the Month” columns
  • Editorial perspectives
  • Student-written articles on ethics, governance, and public service
