Job Avenue and Market Acceptability

As for employment avenues, Sanskrit has as many jobs (or even more) as English or any other language in proportion to their learners. University/college education, school education, civil services, army (pandit), translators (in banking and many other firms of government sector) and media (All India Radio, Door Darshan and many other print media platforms) are some of the avenues where students can be employed. Apart from that, they can explore a career in Ayurveda, Astrology, Yoga and a culture activist.

For the students of other departments we offer Generic Elective courses also which are of interdisciplinary nature and intend to enrich students in an additional field of study. They include, Indian Culture and Social Issues; Individual, Family and Community in Indian Social Thought; Fundamentals of Indian Philosophy; and Basics of Indian Medicine System. These are available to Honours students. For B.A. Program students we have another set of courses which include “Political Thought in Sanskrit” and “Nationalistic Thought in Sanskrit Literature”. We also offer Sanskrit as MIL and SECs for all undergraduate students. The medium of instruction is Hindi, Sanskrit or English, depending upon the requirements of students. The students who have not studied Sanskrit in their 10+2 standard are also eligible for admission in Sanskrit (Honours) as well as Sanskrit (Program) courses.
