Tarseel - The Departmental Society of Journalism at Bharati College was established in 2017. 'Tarseel' which means to 'communicate' is the key to creating a culture of dialogue and mode of enquiry towards pertinent issues. The vision of the department is to foster excellence in all aspects of media and communication. Through its faculty and curriculum, the department works to elevate professional and ethical standards of journalistic values.
Tarseel aims to create critical thinkers with sound ethical core and integrity who steer the discussion on issues of social relevance by unearthing facts.
Tarseel encourages students to broaden their perspective, to chase truth, to not be afraid of challenging the status quo, to not lose their moral ground even in the face of adversity and to become pragmatic change makers.
Tarseel provides students with a number of opportunities to hone their creative skills and showcase their talent through platforms like a newsletter (Bharati Gazette), department blog (Blickwinkel Youth), YouTube channels, Photography and Social Awareness Clubs. Our students get very good responses from media houses throughout the country as well as abroad. Most of the students easily find internships, short term assignments and jobs during and after the completion of the course.
