The foundations of modern democratic society are built on the principles of debate and discussion. Founded in 2012, Chintan- the Debating society of Bharati College strives to inculcate the art of public speaking among students as an important contribution to the civic and political life of the nation. The very term- “Chintan”- means effective thought, reflection and deliberations on important topics. Chintan has been committed to develop and refine the art of effective argumentation and analytical capabilities respectively in students which is essential for any aspiring professional field.
Our mission is clear: we strive to nurture a culture of free speech and critical inquiry, along with promoting the crucial qualities of professionalism and etiquette. We believe it is imperative to take the time to contemplate, deliberate, and participate in meaningful dialogue. Chintan is a society dedicated to steering students toward their aspirations, supporting them in attaining their goals and valuing a wide range of perspectives.
The objectives of Chintan which aids its vision and mission are: • To hone the intellectual and oratory skills of students. • To foster free speech. • To provide a platform for critical inquiry. • To encourage students to engage with issues of national and international importance.
Over the years, Chintan has primed an extraordinary community of thinkers, speakers and leaders. Our students have participated and also won in several college level, state level and even national level competitions. In the future too, Chintan will continue to raise issues of national and international importance and help students articulate a voice that is uniquely their own.
